Student startup Stairway to Travel took home a €5.000 cash prize from UvA Holding at the UvA Startup Challenge 2017 finale.

Over the past year, ACE Venture Lab and IXA stimulated startups from each UvA faculty to pitch their ideas during preliminary rounds. From each faculty a jury selected one startup to continue on to the finals. Finalists from the Faculty of Economics & Business, Social Sciences, Science & Informatics, Humanities and Law competed against each other in the Zuiderkerk during the Let's Get Started student career event on 3 May 2017. Stairway to Travel, representing the Faculty of Science & Informatics, took home the € 5,000 prize for their algorithm-based tool for customized travel advice.
