Last week, Jovan Donev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia and Kumar Bhattacharyya, Chairman of WMG at the University of Warwick, signed a memorandum of understanding

The memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia and WMG at the University of Warwick, provides an initial framework through which research, education and impact activities will be designed to promote collaboration in the fields of education and research between WMG and organisations in Macedonia. Discussions were instigated by Michael English of the British Business Group Macedonia.

Initial activity areas include joint programmes, collaboration within educational and research programmes, and the provision of tailored study programmes in Macedoniafor individuals in industry and other organisations, focused around engineering and technology management and supply chains and logistics.

The latter will build on the strength of WMG in designing and delivering collaborative education programmes to meet the skills needs of companies internationally and the expertise, administrative and technical capabilities in the faculties of the University Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje.

On signing the memorandum, the Ambassador commented, “This is a true step towards intensifying the bilateral cooperation between our two countries. I deeply believe that this example will be followed by other British and Macedonian institutions.”

Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharya commented, “We are looking forward to exploring both the research and education opportunities with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia, which will benefit both parties.”
