Richard L. Hudson, CEO and Editor
Rich has been a leading science and technology journalist in Europe for 20 years. As managing editor of the Wall Street Journal Europe from 1997 to 2003, he helped lead a redesign of the title in 2000. A graduate of Harvard, a former Knight Fellow at MIT and Visiting Scholar at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. Co-author of a book with Yale/IBM "fractal" mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot: The (mis)Behavior of Markets: A fractal view of risk, ruin & reward. Basic Books 2004.
Peter Wrobel, Founding Director
Pete was from 1996 to 2004 the managing editor of Nature, the world's leading scientific journal. He has 25 years’ experience in writing and editing science journalism, including four years as head of publications at the UK Medical Research Council and eight years as chief sub-editor at New Scientist. He is a past chairman of the Association of British Science Writers.
Michael Kenward, OBE. Editor at Large
Michael has been a leading science editor and writer for many years. He began as a research physicist in nuclear fusion, but soon moved on to science journalism. He joined New Scientist magazine in 1969, and after a decade of various writing and editing positions he became editor of the weekly throughout the 1980s. Since then, he has written for The Financial Times, The Engineer, BioWorld Today, Physics World and many other publications. He has won numerous awards - Science Writer of the Year and Editor of the Year, among others, and was one of the founder members of the UK Committee on the Public Understanding of Science. In 1990 he was awarded the Order of the British Empire “for services to journalism”.
Nuala Moran, Managing Editor
Nuala is among Europe's most experienced science and technology journalists.
A former deputy editor of Computer Weekly and managing editor of Nature, she was also innovation editor of the Independent on Sunday. She writes regularly for the Financial Times, BioWorld and other publications.
Fabrice Delaye, Paris Correspondent
After freelancing for newspapers includingLe Figaro and Le Monde, Fabrice joined the weekly magazine L'Hebdo in 1994, specialising in science, technology and business. In September 2006 he became international correspondent of the Swiss daily Le Bilan, a paper he first joined in 1996. He has also worked as a US correspondent in Boston.
Lori Valigra, US Correspondent
Lori reports on science, technology and business from Cambridge, Mass. Her work has been published by The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor, National Geographic News, Science, Reuters and United Press International, among others. She has worked with a number of start-up publications, including the Computer Industry Daily with Esther Dyson and LocalBusiness.com, a Web-based news service, and served as Tokyo Bureau Chief for IDG News Service. Lori has won numerous fellowships, including the Knight Science Journalism Fellowship at MIT.
Mary Lisbeth D'Amico, News Correspondent, Blogger
Mary Lisbeth has been covering the early-stage scene in Europe since the dot.com era, first as a Senior Editor with Tornado Insider, then later as a freelance business journalist. Besides writing for Science|Business, Mary Lisbeth has also contributed to numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal Europe, Business Week, Red Herring, Real Deals, and the Journal of Life Sciences.
Sami Mahroum, Columnist
Dr. Sami Mahroum is an innovation policy specialist. He is a Senior Researcher at INSEAD Abu Dhabi and the Director of INSEAD's Innovation & Policy Initiative. Sami is also a Visiting Reader at the School of Management of Birkbeck College (London). Over the past 15 years, he has worked as an advisor or a consultant to many governments and public bodies including the Austrian, Dutch, Nordic, Ontario, and UK governments as well as the European Commission and the OECD. Sami has published widely in the area of human resources for science and technology and innovation policy.
Terri Robinson, Marketing Manager
Before moving to Europe to study politics in 2004, Terri worked in property sales and management for four years for a prominent real estate company in Columbus, Ohio. Before joining Science|Business, Terri worked as an intern at the European Parliament for the Green Party and completed an internship at the State Representation of Baden-Wurttemberg, where she researched pending issues of the rules of participation for the European Union's Framework Programmes.
Steven Maisel, Finance Director, Company Secretary
Steven has been a financial director or consultant for many years. He was Financial Director of Allied Domecq's international holding company, and its project manager for European Economic Monetary Union. He was also Director of Investor Relations at Paris-listed Provimi, an animal-feed company based in the Netherlands, and Financial Director of a successful Brussels public affairs start-up, Blueprint Partners.
Duane Schulthess, Commercial Director
Duane was previously EMEA Head of Corporate Development for The Wall Street Journal Europe. He is the founder of Steps Ahead Media, a fund and consultancy that develops and invests in innovative technology and media companies. For 11 years, Duane was the Executive Director of the Minneapolis, Minnesota not for profit corporation I.C.E. dedicated to combining emerging digital platforms and the performing arts. Duane has a Bachelor’s degree Music with a Minor in Economics from the University of the Pacific where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He studied the French horn on a Fellowship at London's Royal Academy of Music and also has an MBA with distinction from the Vlerick Leuven Management School where he is a member of the international steering committee.
Peter Koekoek, Online Producer
Before joining Science|Business in Brussels, Peter worked as an intern at the International Office of the Beuth University of Technology in Berlin. He studied a semester in Frankfurt am Main under the European Union's Erasmus programme. Peter studied English in Amsterdam and holds a degree in European Studies from the Thorbecke Academy in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, where he was on the board of the Erasmus Student Network.
Anna Jenkinson, Brussels Correspondent
Anna started out in journalism in Brussels in 1996 and since then has worked as a reporter and editor in Europe and Asia. She worked for Bloomberg News from 2000-2007, first as an editor in Singapore, where she covered financial and general news, and then in Brussels, where she managed the agency’s EU legal coverage. She has also had articles published in The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune and The Independent. Anna holds a degree in Modern Languages (French and German) from Oxford University.

Malcolm Laws, Non-executive Director (died 14 September 2005)
Malcolm was group publishing director at US-based B2B media company Advanstar Communications Inc. for its international telecom and technology portfolio in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America. He was publishing director for the telecoms group of UK media group Emap plc. He was also chief executive of TakeU2, a dotcom venture in 2000-2001, and project director at NetDecisions Ltd.
