Three UK testing services join forces
Partnership / Chemistry
Teddington, UK, 31 August 2005
Three of Britain's leading testing services announced a joint venture to become a global force in checking quality-control at thousands of laboratories. LGC plc, the privatized former Laboratory of the Government Chemist, said it agreed to work with Aquacheck Ltd and Quality Management Ltd in so-called proficiency testing - a system, often required by law, for checking that individual medical or chemical laboratories are maintaining high quality standards. QM provides proficiency-testing in the food and environmental industries; Aquacheck is in water and environmental testing; and LGC works in brewing, food, environmental, forensic and consumer safety fields. Together, the three double-check about 4,000 labs around the world.
