Andrew Lynn, Orthomimetics Ltd, a spin-out from the Cambridge-MIT Institute, UK, that has developed implants that can be accurately delivered using minimally invasive, single-step procedures.
Neville H. McClenaghan, Peter R Flatt and Finbarr P.M. O'Harte, Diabetica Ltd, a Northern Ireland spin-out from the University of Ulster's Diabetes Research Group that is developing therapeutics, diagnostics and other technologies to treat Type II diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome.
Pasquale Pigazzini, Augusto Sarti and Stefano Tubaro, Kee Square, a spin-out from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, that is developing security products that combine high-end image and audio analysis and processing techniques with classification techniques.
Adel Sharif, Surrey Aquatechnology Ltd, UK. Sharif's company, a spin-out from the University of Surrey, is developing water purification and desalination technologies.
Gandert Van Raemdonck, Hjalmar Van Raemdonck, Ephicas BV. The company, a spin-out from TU Delft, the Netherlands, Ephicas is developing and producing aerodynamic devices for lorry trailers that reduce fuel consumption up to 15%, saving fuel costs and reducing pollution.

Picosolve: Peter Andrekson and Mathias Westlund discuss Picosolve, an optical sampling company, spun-off from Chalmers University in Sweden.
BiancaMed: Conor Hanley introduces BiancaMed, a medical sensing spin-out from University College Dublin.
Sensimed: Matteo Leonardi introduces Sensimed, an emerging medical device company concentrating on the design, development, and commercialization of integrated micro-systems for medical diagnosis and treatment monitoring in the area of ophthalmology. The company was established in late 2003 as a spinout from EPFL in Lausanne.
Oxford Catalysts: Tiancun Xiao talks about Oxford Catalysts, a spin-out from Oxford University that produces specialty catalysts for the generation of clean fuels, from both conventional fossil fuels and renewable sources such as biomass.
Carbon8 Capture: Colin Hills introduces Carbon8 Capture, an Accelerated Carbonation Technology for capture of carbon from landfill sites.
Oxford Advanced Surfaces: Mark Moloney discusses Oxford Advanced Surfaces, a spin-out from the University of Oxford that specialises in the development of advanced materials and technology solutions leveraging surface modification chemistry developed by the founders.
Ilika: Brian Hayden discusses Ilika, a company that specialises in the development and application of high throughput, combinatorial R&D techniques for the discovery of new materials.
