The Science of Thinking (PDF)
Europe’s next policy challenge
How fundamental developments in computer science – among them, computational thinking – are changing the way we perform research, educate our children and set policy.
This report is intended to raise awareness of the science, provide case studies to give a flavour of its potential across a range of disciplines, from public health to astronomy, and set out some recommendations for policy in general, and education in particular. It is based partly on a Science|Business roundtable discussion in Brussels on 19 September 2007, some 30 scientists, industrialists and policy makers came together to explore the implications of computational thinking.
